Today, Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, cleared up doubts surrounding this situation and confirmed that the organization of the Aztec lands as a World Cup host remains on track:

“Mexico is a great country, it is a football country and, like in every country in the world, things happen. We do not live on the moon. We have police, authorities who will ensure order and security,” he said at an event of the Colombian Football Federation.
