After suffering a 4-0 defeat by Botafogo in the championship opener, the Raposa holds the last position and needs to respond to the fans in their first home game.

Coxa also lost in the opener, being defeated by RB Bragantino 1-0 at Couto Pereira, in the match that marked the return of the Santa Catarina club to the top tier of national football.

Therefore, Coritiba occupies the second-to-last position in the standings.

Compared to the last game (1-0 over Betim, in the Campeonato Mineiro), coach Tite opted for the inclusion of João Marcelo and Kaio Jorge in place of Jonathan Jesus and Chico da Costa, respectively, for Cruzeiro.
