The TKO-led promotion recently filed a trademark for EK Prosper, and, according to a recent report by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful, the company filed this trademark to officially change Eli Knight’s name. The report also highlighted that WWE did it to avoid the confusion between its main roster star, LA Knight, and developmental talent Eli Knight.
For those unaware, LA Knight competed under the ring name Eli Drake in TNA Wrestling before he joined the Stamford-based promotion, which could also be a major reason why the company wanted to avoid the confusion between the two stars’ names.
LA Knight could team up with The Usos in a match at WWE WrestleMania 42
LA Knight is currently not on the WrestleMania 42 card. However, according to a recent report by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Knight’s status for this year’s Show of Shows could change.
The report highlighted that The Megastar could team up with The Usos to face Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and YouTuber IShowSpeed. Meltzer also mentioned that this contest could change if Speed feels he isn’t ready to compete inside the squared circle.
“If Speed isn’t ready, they could do a tag match with Knight and Speed in the corners, but right now, it’s the trios match that is on the match listing,” said Dave Meltzer.
It remains to be seen what the Triple H-led creative team has planned for LA Knight on the Road to WrestleMania 42.
