A WWE star has said he will send John Cena back to Hollywood if he gets in the ring with the Last Real Champion. Cena is at the tail end of his retirement tour with only four dates left before he bids goodbye to a decorated WWE career.
While it’s not official yet who will face him in the ring in his last few appearances, SmackDown superstar Drew McIntyre is hoping that he gets the chance to share the ring with the 17-time WWE World Champion before his retirement.
In an interview with SPORTbible, the Scottish star said that he would relish the chance to compete against Cena, not only in a match but also on the mic.
“I know a lot of people online, and the chatter… a lot of people in the locker room, saying, ‘I would love to see you guys not just wrestle, but get on the microphone together’, because there’s so few people that can keep up with Cena,” he said.
The Scottish Psychopath said that Cena is an “absolute GOAT” when it came to the mic due to his ability to think on his feet. He also said he wants to test himself against the best, and if he gets in the ring with the Never-Seen 17, he will shred him on the mic.
“I wanted to show that against someone like Punk, who is known as one of the best talkers of all time. I believe Cena genuinely is, and he’s so quick on his feet. I’d love that opportunity to tear him to pieces, then get him in the ring and send him right back to Hollywood – where he’s doing a fantastic job,” he added. [H/T: SPORTbible]
While John Cena and Drew McIntyre have shared the same timeline in WWE, they have never wrestled each other one-on-one.
Donald Trump could get involved in John Cena’s final match, according to former WWE star
John Cena is set for his final WWE match on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The show will emanate from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. This has led to speculation that some members of the White House may also be present for the occasion.
In an interview with TMZ Inside the Ring, former WWE star Tyrus said that if U.S. President Donald Trump says he wants to be there, then he would surely be at the event.
He even claimed that he could see Trump getting involved in the match finish and hitting a ‘binding resolution.’
