Finn Balor, Gunther, and Kevin Owens battled in a Triple Threat match this past Friday night on SmackDown to determine the number one contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Sami Zayn interfered in the match and beat everyone down, resulting in the match ending in a no contest.
CM Punk captured the Undisputed WWE Championship from Sami Zayn in July. Zayn won the title at Night of Champions 2026 but only got to be champion for nine days before losing it to The Second City Saint. Balor was kicked out of The Judgment Day on the March 9 edition of RAW and has since switched to the SmackDown brand.
