#5. Jordynne Grace suffered an injury before WWE SmackDown

Last year, Jordynne Grace moved to WWE’s main roster when she completed her run on the developmental brand under Shawn Michaels’ leadership. Before she signed a deal with the Stamford-based promotion, Grace made appearances for the company on behalf of TNA Wrestling.

Before the recent edition of WWE SmackDown, Jordynne Grace was in a match against Alba Fyre on Main Event. During the contest, the former TNA Knockouts World Champion landed awkwardly, and Fyre was forced to end the match early as the referee threw the ‘X’ sign.

Later, the 30-year-old SmackDown star confirmed her injury on X, where she was seen sitting in a wheelchair next to Chelsea Green. While the injury’s nature is yet to be confirmed, it’s hopefully not severe, as it could force Jordynne Grace to miss WrestleMania 42.

#4. New contenders crowned on WWE SmackDown

After R-Truth returned to the Stamford-based promotion in 2023, he tried his best to join The Judgment Day. Damian Priest was often his support in Truth’s journey, but he couldn’t add him to the group. Later, Priest and Rhea Ripley shared the screen with the veteran when they weren’t part of The Judgment Day.

On the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the unlikely duo of Damian Priest and R-Truth won a Tag Team Turmoil and became the new number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship. It’ll be interesting to see when they get to face MFT for the titles.

#3. Brock Lesnar could face top WWE name at WrestleMania 42 – Reports

Brock Lesnar hasn’t competed at WrestleMania in three years, and this year’s event is set to change that for The Beast Incarnate. While the three-time Universal Champion has issued an open challenge, the management hasn’t teased who will answer it in Nevada.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), the insider believes Oba Femi could go one-on-one against the multi-time world champion in Las Vegas. The management is aware of the fan interest in this match, and the insider thinks the company could book the match for WrestleMania 42.

#2. Reason behind Road Dogg’s resignation from his WWE role – Reports

Earlier this week, it was reported that Road Dogg, a co-head writer on SmackDown, had resigned and left the company. The exit came out of nowhere as the company heads toward the biggest event of the year in Nevada, and the blue brand recently switched back to three hours.

According to The Wrestling Observer, the company’s annual feedback on Dogg’s work is the reason behind the Hall of Famer’s exit. The blue brand’s creative team has been restructured heading into WrestleMania 42, and it’ll be interesting to see what’s next for the veteran in the industry.

#1. Major change to WrestleMania 42’s main event; new Undisputed WWE Champion crowned

On the recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Randy Orton confirmed he’s back in the main event for WrestleMania for the first time in over a decade. While he wasn’t sure if he would face Drew McIntyre or Cody Rhodes, he was confident of leaving the event with his 15th world championship.

In the show’s main event, Drew McIntyre defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes. In the match’s final moments, McIntyre tried to use a steel chair, but Jacob Fatu appeared ringside and stopped the champion. After The American Nightmare hit a Cross-Rhodes, he became the new champion.

This changes the main event of WrestleMania 42, which was initially going to be between McIntyre and Orton. Moreover, a match between the former Legacy members will possibly headline the first night of the event on Saturday. Elsewhere, Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre will most likely face each other in Nevada.
