Welcome to another edition of Sportskeeda’s WWE News and Rumor Roundup. In this edition, we’ll take a look at all the latest updates from the world of the sports entertainment juggernaut before Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1.

So, without any further ado, let’s get into the stories.

5. NXT standout breaks silence after shock WWE release

Wes Lee was let go as part of the latest batch of releases from WWE. The 30-year-old won the NXT North American Championship once and the NXT Tag Team Championship twice with Nash Carter. He was one of the most beloved babyfaces during his time in the company, and also had a solid heel run.

He recently confirmed his availability for independent bookings, also revealing that he would be going by ‘Dezmond Xavier’ following his release from WWE.

4. WWE’s plans about bringing back former champion revealed

Former United States Champion Andrade was shockingly released from the company recently. The Mexican was reportedly fired for disciplinary issues and for violating the company’s wellness policy. He later appeared on the October 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, but hasn’t returned or been mentioned by them since.

The Stamford-based promotion reportedly has no plans to bring El Idolo back, according to the Wrestling Observer, and recently sent AEW a Cease and Desist letter for using Andrade despite his non-compete clause.

3. Damian Priest sends a strong message to Aleister Black after getting his face burned

On SmackDown this week, Damian Priest sent a strong message to his rival, Aleister Black, after the former AEW star burned his face with a fireball a few weeks ago. The Archer of Infamy interfered in his rival’s United States Championship match and prevented him from defeating Ilja Dragunov for the title.

The former World Heavyweight Champion claimed that their rivalry was now personal and that he would punish Black for crossing the line.

2. WWE veteran seemingly reveals Triple H’s true nature

In an appearance on Maven Huffman’s YouTube channel, Vince Russo recalled working with Triple H when he was still an active wrestler. The former WWE head writer claimed Hunter was a very sweet person during his early days in the company. He also admitted to not knowing much about the current version of The Game.

“This is difficult for me, and I’ll tell you why. The Triple H I worked with, was a sweetheart of a guy. I worked with the early years of Triple H when he had the valet on his arm.” He continued, “The Triple H I worked with, I loved. Chyna, too, Chyna was a part of him. I loved them both. Now, I don’t know the Triple H who married Stephanie McMahon. I don’t know the Triple H with power. I think I’ve had one email exchange with Triple H in the last 25 years, and that’s been the extent of it. So I can only base it on the guy that I worked with, and the guy that I worked with, an absolute sweetheart of a guy.”

1. John Cena rumored to win major title before retirement

John Cena is just one title away from becoming a grand slam champion in WWE. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Never Seen 17 is expected to win the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series WarGames.

Cena only has four dates remaining before he retires in December, and it’ll be interesting to see whether he wins the Intercontinental Championship before hanging up his jorts.
