NAWA shared the announcement of his retirement match in a Facebook post. The event in Lancaster, South Carolina, will be called Boogies Last Dance, a reference to Valiant’s “Boogie Woogie Man” nickname.
Valiant began his wrestling career in 1964 and wrestled for a number of promotions over the decades. He held the Tag Team championship in the old WWWF and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996.
The veteran last competed on September 23, 2023, when he took part in a six-man tag match, also under the NAWA banner.
With his retirement match, Jimmy Valiant will bring an end to a 62-year career as an in-ring performer.

In a press release to PWInsider, Jimmy Valiant, 83, confirmed that he will step back in the ring for NAWA Championship Wrestling on April 25 for his “final dance.”
He said that even though he has retired before, this will be his last time competing in the ring. He said he was honored that he got to compete for a long time and reflected on his career.
“Yes, this will be my final dance. I’ve retired before, but this is truly my last dance. I’m honored to hang up my boots after 62 years of wrestling pro. I had over 15,000 matches and drove 6 million miles on U.S. highways, plus flying getting to those matches,” he said.
Currently, it hasn’t been announced who Jimmy Valiant will face in his retirement match.
