In an interview on Vlad TV, D-Von Dudley was asked about his thoughts on Vince McMahon’s use of the n-word during a live pay-per-view event.

“I was totally disgusted by it when I saw it, didn’t like it at all. At the time, I was in TNA, but I remember my head just dropping because at that time, shock TV, it was like nobody could do Shock TV anymore. Everything was already done. I definitely feel that was for a shock value. I definitely feel that it was get a reaction and it did, but I don’t think it was the right reaction. I don’t think it was the reaction that they thought they were going to get because again, in my opinion, to use that word in pro wrestling is wrong. Because understand this, at one point, this business was all white and you have very few minorities in it,” D-Von said.

10 years after their release in mid-2005, D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley returned to WWE. Vince McMahon was still in charge at that point, so what he said at Survivor Series 2005 was probably not an issue anymore back then.

What did Booker T say about Vince McMahon using the n-word?

In an episode of his Hall of Fame podcast back in April 2025, Booker T discussed the controversial segment involving Vince McMahon using the n-word while talking to John Cena.

“I don’t think the skit with McMahon and John Cena was a racial issue with me. I just don’t take it for what it’s worth.” Booker T said. “That’s the word that is used in all the rap songs. It’s simple. He’s trying to be cool just like all the White rappers all the Black, the Mexican, all of them saying the same thing. So when did it become a problem? Because Vince McMahon said it? Wow, okay, in a skit,” Booker said. [H/T Wrestling, Inc.]

McMahon has been out of WWE since January 2024 after a lawsuit was filed against him by Janel Grant, alleging sexual assault and sexual trafficking.
