McAfee picked up the microphone while Orton attacked Rhodes with a steel chair. The SmackDown general manager, Nick Aldis, came out with security to stop the attack, but the NFL legend wasn’t having any of it. McAfee called Aldis “foreign Adam Pearce” and told him to shut up.

On X, Pearce reacted to the megastar’s comments on SmackDown, seemingly unamused by it.

Check out his reaction below:

McAfee’s involvement has added an interesting layer to the Rhodes vs. Orton rivalry. While fan reactions have been mixed, it will be interesting to see how it affects the title match at The Show of Shows.

Reported reason why WWE introduced Pat McAfee into the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes program

Pat McAfee’s reveal as Randy Orton’s mystery caller left fans confused, as he has little to no connection with the rivalry between The Viper and The American Nightmare.

Multiple reports have come out, explaining the reason behind the NFL legend’s involvement in the WrestleMania 42 program. PWInsider has reported that an edict came directly from TKO to WWE creative to include the commentator in the feud between Orton and Rhodes.

Bodyslam added that McAfee has been introduced to elevate the rivalry between The Apex Predator and The American Nightmare.

“Sources indicate to Bodyslam that Ari Emanuel believes that Pat McAfee is a star and will help elevate this program between Orton and Rhodes and get it to where it needs to be between his show on ESPN and weekly SmackDown episodes before WrestleMania in 2 weeks”

It will be interesting to see if McAfee can help Orton win his 15th world title in WWE.
