Recently, the WWE veteran took to social media to inform fans of Dave The Viking’s passing. He noted the influence Dave had on him during the start of his wrestling journey. He also recalled wanting to become a wrestler after watching one of Dave’s shows at Pleasure Beach. He also recalled spending a week with Dave when he was 17.

“I’m very sad to hear of the passing of Dave, Ragnor The Viking (original) who was a wrestler from England. Dave wrestled around the world and ended up as a busker living and street performing in Germany. When I was a child my Dad took me to Blackpool and we walked round off the sea front into the Pleasure Beach. Dave was stood there with his Axe and Abe Ginsburg was on the mike spieling for challenges to wrestle Dave in the last “Carnival” wrestling booth in the UK where they took on challengers from the public and was where I started my life in Wrestling when I was 15.”

William Regal is still in contact with Mercedes Mone

William Regal was a big part of the NXT black and gold era, where he served as the General Manager. During this time, he was very much involved in the development of talents. One of the stars who worked under him during this time was Mercedes Mone.

In a recent edition of her Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes Mone revealed that Regal still checks in on her to this day.

“To this day, Regal continues to check in on me, offering support and encouragement. His kindness and belief have been instrumental in my journey, and I am eternally grateful for everything he has done.
