Patrick Reed is enjoying a fantastic run at the Dubai Desert Classic this week.
Reed has opened up a two-shot lead at the Dubai Desert Classic after carding rounds of 69 and 66.
Sitting at 44th in the world, the American will be eager to pick up a win in Dubai to give his ranking a boost.

While his comments weren’t particularly controversial, they did grab headlines, as expected when LIV golfers are involved. Even if his heart lies with LIV Golf now, he’s not exactly wrong about what he said.
But the talk has shifted from what Reed said off the course to what he’s been doing on it, thanks to how well he’s playing.

After posting a superb, bogey-free round of 66 in Dubai on Friday, Reed addressed the media.
The greens at Emirates Golf Club have sparked plenty of discussion this week. Reed spoke about how they differ from other venues and what players are saying about them.

“The thing is, compared to some of the places that we play, it’s a little bit flatter here. We’re used to having different levels or really big slopes and stuff on certain holes.
“This one, you know, there’s not as much slope going on with the greens, but there’s a lot more subtlety to them.
“The day before yesterday was one of those days where you go out and hang around par because obviously you were swirling 40-mile-an-hour winds coming through these buildings.
“Today felt like an easier day even though it was still 13 or so miles an hour blowing but in the mornings I’d say it’s usually always better than in the afternoon here just because you get up on those taller buildings in town for whatever reason just ramps up into those holes that are going back towards Townsville.

Patrick Reed discusses changes he made between rounds in Dubai
Following his bogey-free 66, Patrick Reed spoke with the media about the difference between his first and second rounds at the Dubai Desert Classic.
Reed was asked what he did better on Friday that enabled him to beat his opening round score by three strokes.
He replied: “A little bit of both. Felt like yesterday, especially on that back nine, I tried to do too much. Tried to take on shots that I probably shouldn’t have especially with the conditions and how the greens were, and because of that, short-sided myself a couple times in the rough.

“The way that golf course was playing yesterday with how firm and fast the greens were, you just couldn’t short-side yourself in the rough and I seemed to do that whenever I made bogey. Missed a couple short putts.“
“But I felt like because the conditions, because of how it was yesterday, it was going to play tough and it was going to be an up-and-down round. But the good thing is today I felt like we’re hitting the ball exactly where I need to and I feel like I’m hitting some solid putts.“
If he can keep up this level over the weekend – while making enough putts – there’s every chance he could pick up another title for his CV.
