On SmackDown this week, he interrupted Randy Orton’s promo, reminding everybody that they crossed paths early on this past January. Williams had just started to go off on a tangent about how he should have been the one to win the Chamber match, but in what felt like under a minute, The Viper would hit the RKO and successfully land it, giving Williams a humiliating cameo on SmackDown.
Despite the RKO, Orton had previously stated to Williams in their first interaction that he liked him. Even when Trick Williams was making his electric entrance this week, Orton was clapping along, meaning that he does have some level of admiration despite being in direct competition with him.
That’s perhaps because Orton, a nearly 25-year veteran in WWE, understands that superstars only get ahead by snatching what’s theirs and walking over others rather than waiting and asking for the big time. Williams certainly has that unique element that makes him stand out.
