The Washington Capitals have recalled forward Ivan Miroshnichenko from the Hershey Bears, it was announced Wednesday.

Drafted by the Capitals in the first round of the 2022 NHL Draft, Miroshnichenko has seen 16 games with the Bears this season, scoring seven goals and adding seven assists for 14 points.

Having split time between the Bears and Capitals in 2023-24, Miroshnichenko put up six points in 21 NHL games and 25 points in 47 AHL games.

With this being Miroshnichenko’s first NHL recall this season, he will likely spend the foreseeable future with the Capitals due to Alex Ovechkin going down with an injury. Having proven to be a play driver at the AHL level, Miroshnichenko is ready to be given more responsibility in the NHL.
