Three of the most storied golf clubs in the United States were announced Saturday as future host venues for the Walker Cup and Curtis Cup competitions.

The U.S. Golf Association announced the Walker Cup would head to National Golf Links of America in 2040, returning to Cypress Point in 2048, and heading to Seminole Golf Club in 2052. In addition, the Curtis Cup will head to Cypress Point in 2042, while going to Seminole in 2046.

“The Curtis Cup and Walker Cup represent the very best of amateur golf, and these host sites emphasize our commitment to honoring the game’s history while inspiring its future,” John Bodenhamer, USGA chief championships officer, said in a release. “These iconic venues will provide truly exceptional stages, and we’re proud to partner with them in the years ahead.”

National Golf Links of America, in Southampton, New York, which opened in 1909, was designed by renowned golf course architect C.B. Macdonald, who guided the course’s development over its first 30 years. Macdonald’s tenure included the inaugural Walker Cup Match in 1922. National Golf Links of America was the home club of George Herbert Walker, USGA president in 1920 when the event was conceived, and the man who donated the trophy. After a 91-year hiatus, the Walker Cup returned to its birthplace for its 44th playing in 2013, where the USA won 19-7. The club will also host the 2030 Curtis Cup and will become just the fourth club to host both the Curtis Cup and Walker Cup.

Cypress Point Club, in Pebble Beach, California, recently hosted the 50th Walker Cup last September, in which the USA dominated Sunday singles, going 8-1-1 en route to a 17-9 victory. The course was designed by Alister MacKenzie in collaboration with Robert Hunter and opened for play in 1929. In addition to the 2025 and 1981 Walker Cups, the club hosted “The Match,” a famous 1956 four-ball competition between professionals Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson and amateurs Ken Venturi and Harvie Ward, and was one of three courses used for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for more than 40 years.

Seminole Golf Club, in Juno Beach, Florida, hosted the 48th Walker Cup in 2021, in which the USA narrowly defeated GB&I, 14-12, to win its third consecutive match. The course was designed by Donald Ross and opened for play in 1929. The course’s routing encompasses two dune ridges, one that peaks to the west and another along the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Members have included U.S. presidents, business and industry leaders and golf elites. Ben Hogan, a four-time U.S. Open champion, practiced and played there, while Henry Picard, who won two major professional titles, served as club professional for 26 years.

Later this year, the Curtis Cup will head to Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles while the Walker Cup will take place at Lahinch in Ireland.
