Amid these rumors, Fightful‘s recent report suggests that Chris Jericho is currently under contract with All Elite Wrestling. The report also highlighted that people close to Y2J believe his AEW deal was frozen after he went on a hiatus from wrestling following his last match in 2025.

If this report is true, then rumors about Jericho being the man in the mystery crate shown on this week’s WWE RAW could be completely false.

Dutch Mantell believes Chris Jericho could return to WWE in a backstage role

During a recent edition of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the veteran said that he believed Chris Jericho was “an old guy in a young man’s game.”

Mantell added that he felt Y2J could return to WWE in a backstage role, maybe as part of Triple H’s creative team.

“Well, he may be in shape, but when people hear he’s 55-56, to me, he is an old guy in a young man’s game; it’s what he is. I don’t care how good he is; he is great. I’ve seen him do a lot of great stuff, and he hits all the points. But at 55, and he’s not going back till next year, I would say there is a possibility that he doesn’t even go now, as a talent, let me say that. He may not go as a talent; he could go as a part of the creative team, but I don’t think he wants to do that.”

It remains to be seen if Chris Jericho has planned a return to WWE at some point in the future.
