The same report also noted that months ago, it reported that AJ’s contract with the sports entertainment juggernaut would likely expire in February. As of now, they haven’t heard that he’s renewing.

WWE CCO revealed the real reason behind the icon’s retirement

Following Styles’s ending his career losing to the Ring General at the Royal Rumble this past weekend. During the post-show presser, the CCOTriple H opined on AJ’s retirement.

The Game revealed that he has yet to talk to the legend himself about his future. However, he is aware that his in-ring side has come to a conclusion. Moreover, speaking of the real reason behind Mr.TNA’s retirement, the Hall of Famer opened up that Styles’s heart wasn’t in it anymore.

The CCO acknowledged that AJ has not missed a step in the ring; the icon himself called the shot that he is done with in-ring action and wants to hang up his boots.

That being said, it will be interesting to see what plans Triple H and his creative team have in store for the 48-year-old former champion behind the curtains if he decides to contribute in any way to the Stamford-based promotion, or Styles would move on to the next stops and come out of retirement in any other wrestling promotion in the near future.
