Trevor Lawrence Nails Trick Shot at Star-Studded Celebrity Golf Championship originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Trevor Lawrence may not be dominating the fairways this week in Lake Tahoe, but the former Clemson star reminded everyone he’s still got a little hooper in him.

Participating in the annual American Century Celebrity Golf Championship at Edgewood Tahoe, Lawrence was spotted draining a three-point shot—yes, on a golf course—after he was tossed a basketball during his Friday round.

It was a quick moment, but one that perfectly captured the laid-back, star-filled atmosphere of the country’s most famous celebrity golf event.

The 2018 All-American and current Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback was grouped Friday with actor Miles Teller and comedian Colin Jost, a lighthearted trio that epitomizes the crossover nature of the ACC tournament.

Despite some struggles on the leaderboard—Lawrence sat 86th out of 90 players at -18 in the modified Stableford scoring system—his brief basketball cameo might’ve been the highlight of his day.

The moment came on one of Edgewood Tahoe’s most scenic holes, with the towering Ponderosa Pines and crystal-clear Lake Tahoe in the backdrop. A shot like that wouldn’t surprise anyone who watched Lawrence lead Clemson to a national title, but it was still enough to get fans buzzing.

This marks another summer appearance for Lawrence at the celebrity event, which annually draws some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment. Previous stars have included Michael Jordan, Steph Curry, Tony Romo, Annika Sorenstam, and Charles Barkley, among others.

The tournament has been held at Edgewood Tahoe since 1990, a course known for its beauty and difficulty—stretching to 6,709 yards for the ACC, with 11 holes featuring water and famously fast greens.

So no, Trevor Lawrence might not be walking away with the trophy this year. But he did remind us all that even on a golf course, he can still hit from deep.
