For years, Tommy Fleetwood has been a golfer who consistently found himself in the hunt but could never win a PGA event. That finally changed on Sunday in the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

Fleetwood — whose PGA Tour career has included seven top-5 finishes in majors and 164 overall starts — shot a two-under 68 on Sunday to edge out Russell Henley and Patrick Cantlay to claim the Tour Championship.

And while the Tour Championship is just a 30-player field with no cuts, it didn’t take anything away from the moment for Fleetwood. The FedEx Cup win also netted Fleetwood a $10 million pay day.

When he finished off that first career win on 18, we could see how his emotions immediately ranged from relief to euphoria. He was fired up.

That win was a long time coming.
