Speaking on Rewind Recap Relive, Riddle shared how Gunther’s chops do not hurt him whenever they were in a match. It’s not a big deal, according to The Original Bro, since they are all just acting and performing in front of a crowd.

“I was talking to somebody today, and like, ‘Those chops!’ I’m like, ‘Dude, they’re actually not that bad.’ I’ve wrestled Gunther a million times. I wrestled Big Gunther when he was like big like 300 (pounds). This is like skinny vegan Gunther. This guy isn’t even that strong, dude. No disrespect. It’s just, you know, it is what it is, right? It’s pro wrestling,” Riddle said.

Matt Riddle was released by WWE in late 2023 after a controversial airport incident. Riddle returned to the independent circuit, though he has mostly worked for Major League Wrestling.

WWE’s rumored plan for Gunther at WrestleMania 42

There’s no denying that Gunther has a lot of momentum heading into WrestleMania 42 after retiring three of the biggest WWE Superstars in history. There is even an argument for The Ring General deserving of a world title shot at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the company is reportedly considering three opponents for The Career Killer: Brock Lesnar, Oba Femi and Rey Mysterio.

Lesnar and Gunther were supposed to clash at WrestleMania 40 before the Janel Grant lawsuit sidelined The Beast for a while. He has an Open Challenge for WrestleMania 42, which Gunther can answer.

Oba Femi is a rising star who could be one of the pillars for building the next generation. As for Rey Mysterio, he’s a prime candidate to join Bill Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles in retirement.
