The Rock’s daughter Ava has responded after scathing criticism of her WWE character. The 24-year-old currently serves as the on-screen General Manager of NXT and had her hands full this week.
Throughout the show, NXT Champion Ricky Saints was brawling with Trick Williams. Their fight even disrupted the main event between Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace for the TNA Knockouts World Title.
This led to Ava announcing that Starks will defend his title against Trick in a Last Man Standing Match on the November 11 show. However, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer criticized the decision and called her out for being an inconsistent character.
Alvarez said instead of punishing the two stars, she rewarded Williams with a title match. He didn’t hold back in his assessment of the NXT GM.
“The funny thing is, I’ll give Ava one thing. She is the most consistent character in all of wrestling, bar none. The most consistent character, consistently f**king terrible. But like, her gimmick is a lazy Gen Z out there nepo hire who doesn’t want to f**king ever work. Everybody else has to do all the work, and she’s going to take credit for it,” he said.
Not holding back, Ava has responded to these words. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she had a sarcastic reply for Alvarez.
“man… i remember my first day on earth too,” she wrote.
Being a fourth-generation star, Ava has found it tough to escape nepotism accusations. After signing with WWE, she joined NXT and was initially placed with the Schism faction.
However, after the stable was disbanded, she took up an on-screen role backstage before being named as the NXT GM in January last year.
Ava faced criticism over controversial Charlie Kirk post
In September, the former Schism member left fans divided over her post around the unfortunate death of Charlie Kirk. A political activist, Kirk was fatally shot at Utah University while addressing a live audience.
As his supporters mourned his death, The Rock’s daughter posted a message on her Instagram Stories, quoting comedian Gianmarco Soresi, which was interpreted as an insensitive reference to Kirk.
This led to intense backlash against the WWE star, with many fans calling for her to be fired from the promotion. However, she refused to take down the post and even doubled down on her stance later.
