Real Madrid’s title hopes suffered a great blow when the Spanish giants fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Getafe.
No one enjoyed the Getafe win more than Allan Nyom, who had held a grudge against Vinicius Jr., who mocked him after he was sent off just 39 seconds after being substituted in during the reverse fixture in October, where Real Madrid won 1-0.

Nyom received a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Vinicius. The Brazilian winger allegedly taunted Getafe’s bench with a sarcastic “buen cambio” (good substitution) directed at coach Jose Bordalas.
Moments later, Kylian Mbappe sealed the win for Los Blancos, leaving Getafe fuming. The club appealed the red card, accusing Vinicius of exaggerating contact and provoking opponents.
Tensions flare up once again
Fast forward to the return fixture, and revenge was served cold. As the final whistle blew, Nyom charged toward Vinicius, exuberantly celebrating the upset and dedicating the triumph to the Real Madrid star as payback.

As reported by Diario AS, Nyom had been harbouring resentment, aiming to unsettle Real Madrid during the celebrations, and this gesture was a clear callback to the earlier incident.
Vinicius Jr., though, should ideally move on from the incident and focus on the road ahead for Real Madrid, which could be difficult following the injury of Kylian Mbappe.
Reports suggest the Frenchman will be sidelined for a host of key matches for Real Madrid, including their upcoming Champions League Round of 16 affair against Manchester City.
The onus, therefore, will be on Vinicius Jr. to lead the Real Madrid frontline and help the team not only reach the final of the Champions League but also compete with Barcelona for the league title.
