A popular WWE star recently made some surprising accusations against Cody Rhodes during his clash against Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The name in question is Wade Barrett.

Going into Saturday Night’s Main Event, Drew McIntyre had stated multiple times in his promos that the company’s management had given Cody Rhodes unfair advantages, particularly in their previous clash at Wrestlepalooza 2025, where the referee shockingly stopped McIntyre from hitting Rhodes with a Claymore and ramming the latter’s head on the side of the announcer’s desk. This helped The American Nightmare to get out of the risky situation, and The Scottish Warrior ended up hurting himself. The match ultimately ended in Rhodes’ favor.

During their clash at Saturday Night’s Main Event, commentator Wade Barrett told Michael Cole that he was friends with both Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. However, he said that he agreed with McIntyre’s claims and believed Rhodes had been given advantages at times by the management.

“Look, and I’ll tell you right now, I’m friends with both of these guys. But there are elements of truth in what McIntyre is saying. Cody has been given advantages at times by management that Drew was never given,” Wade Barrett said.

On the October 17 edition of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes got himself disqualified by hitting Drew McIntyre with the title. A new stipulation was added to their match for SNME. If Rhodes had gotten himself disqualified this time, he would have ended up losing the title.

Despite this stipulation, The American Nightmare once again ‘cheated’ his way to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship as he hit his opponent with a DDT on the title while the referee was knocked out. He then hit the Cross Rhodes to win the match via pinfall and retain the gold.

It will be interesting to see what the Triple H-led creative team has planned for Cody Rhodes’ future as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
