ST. LOUIS — The logical wisdom would be to once again go with Dylan Holloway in this spot considering the St. Louis Blues forward is on a seven-game point heater and playing his best hockey of his NHL career.

But in this spot, let’s go with forward Pavel Buchnevich when the Blues (14-13-2) come for a quick one-game hit to host the San Jose Sharks (10-16-5) at 7 p.m. today (FDSNMW, ESPN 101.1-FM).

Buchnevich, who has missed two games with a lower-body injury during this past stint of games, does have a point in the past six games he’s played (two goals, four assists) and he’s shown up in these spots against the Sharks (18 points; four goals, 14 assists) in 16 games.

Buchnevich is going to stay in his more comfortable spot on the wing, as coach Jim Montgomery stated recently, and he’s going to stick with Robert Thomas, who should fuel the supply to give Buchnevich the ammo necessary to add up the points.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility of a multi-point game with the Blues (5-1-1 in seven games under Montgomery) averaging more than a goal per game (3.43 from 2.36) since the coaching change.
