Dylan Holloway has been one of those depth players for the St. Louis Blues of late that has found offensive production tough to come by.

After a seven-game point streak culminated with an overtime game-winner on Dec. 10 against the Vancouver Canucks, the well had run dry for Holloway without a point in six straight.

He busted out of that and left those six games emphatically in the dust with his first NHL hat trick in a 4-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena on Monday.

Holloway played 16:49 and scored his fourth game-winner of the season and did so by being the beneficiary of strong play in all three zones, the Blues (16-16-4) were connected throughout the game and he utilized his shot to help fuel some much-needed offense for a team that had scored just one goal in four of their past five games and seven in all.

The Blues had a number of players who were exceptional in this game, including defensemen Cam Fowler and Colton Parayko, Alexandre Texier, who was moved up to the top line for this game.

But when a kid scores his first NHL hat trick, he deserves top honors for player of the game.
