Tony D’Angelo is scheduled to defend the NXT Championship against Cruz Montana, Grayson Waller, and Zilla Fatu at Heatwave. Kendal Grey is scheduled to defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Kelani Jordan at the event as well. The NXT North American and the WWE Women’s Speed Championships will also be unified in the match between Zaria and Wren Sinclair.

Popular WWE star comments on Grayson Waller potentially winning NXT Championship

Je’Von Evans commented on the possibility of Grayson Waller becoming NXT Champion at Heatwave.

In an interview with The Wrestling Classic, Evans suggested that Waller was being honest and hoped it got the attention of the WWE NXT locker room. The Young OG claimed that Waller might capture the title if it didn’t wake the locker room up.

“I mean, he was being real, he was being honest, you feel me? I feel like the roster, they try and do their thing, but the women are going crazy right now, especially in NXT, you feel me? So I really hope that woke up the men’s roster because if it didn’t, then Grayson is going to have to take over and become champion. I feel like nobody really wants that.”

It will be interesting to see which WWE star walks out of Heatwave 2026 as the NXT Champion.
