A major angle is set to kick off this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. Tonight’s SmackDown will air live from the Delta Center in Utah and is the final show before Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Tiffany Stratton is the reigning WWE Women’s Champion, and she is set to defend her title at Saturday Night’s Main Event tomorrow night. Jade Cargill will be challenging for the title at SNME following her attack on Stratton last week on SmackDown.
According to a new report from PWInsider, the former AEW star and Tiffany Stratton are set to kick off tonight’s SmackDown to hype their title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.
Tiffany Stratton defeated Kiana James last week on WWE SmackDown in a hard-fought match. Women’s United States Champion Giulia attacked Stratton following the match, but Cargill rushed to the ring to make the save. However, Cargill shockingly turned heel and unleashed a brutal attack on Stratton last Friday night.
Former WWE writer reacts to Jade Cargill’s attack on Tiffany Stratton
Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently commented on Jade Cargill’s attack on Tiffany Stratton last week on SmackDown.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s BroDown show, Russo claimed Cargill’s heel turn was unnecessary. He then suggested that the introduction of artificial intelligence was the only thing that could save the creative team’s jobs backstage.
“Look at this sh*t. What do you guys want me and Mac to talk about for an hour? This show is one big fight. That’s all it is. That guy is attacking this guy, this guy is attacking that guy. We’re gonna turn Jade Cargill heel for no reason. We’re gonna do the Naomi-Jade Cargill storyline with Fatu. I swear to God, Triple H, Paul Heyman, Prichard, Hayes, whoever the hell is involved should drop to their knees and thank God for AI. Thank God for AI because literally AI is the only thing that can save their jobs. That’s the only thing that can save their jobs,” said Russo.

Cargill is a former TBS Champion in All Elite Wrestling but has never won a singles title during her time in WWE. It will be interesting to see if she can defeat Stratton at Saturday Night’s Main Event tomorrow night to become champion.
