Southampton have completed the signing of young forward Ruby Tucker.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Saints this afternoon.

The 19-year-old attacker joins Southampton off the back of a long spell with Aston Villa. She has signed her first professional contract with the South Coast club.

Tucker was a product of The Villans’ youth set up before going on to feature for the club’s Professional Game Academy League side.

On the international stage, Tucker has represented England at various youth levels up to and including Under-19 level.

After joining Southampton, Tucker said “It’s really exciting, I can’t wait to get started. To sign my first professional contract is a dream come true really for me and my family, and to be at this club is just amazing.

“I spent eight, nine years at Villa, learning a lot from training with the first team last year, so I can’t wait to bring that into playing at Southampton.”

Tucker is Southampton’s third signing of the summer transfer window. The club have also added former Sunderland defender Amy Goddard and former West Ham United forward Emma Harries to their ranks in the last 24 hours.
