A scenic golf course in Sedona, Arizona, gets its share of wildlife visitors. Deer, coyotes, bobcats, racoons and other Arizona critters can often be spotted in the area.

Seven Canyons Golf Club, which re-opened in March of 2024 after a renovation, also has had a few run-ins with javelinas, but ultimately those are simply wild animals doing what wild animals do.

For you arachnophobes, however, you may want to shield your eyes, as a huge tarantula was recently spotted perched on a curb along a cart path at the golf course. Emily Casey, who goes by Em Casey on X, posted a video that Thursday that might send shivers down your spine.

As she notes, it’s not quite tarantula season but if you’re in northern Arizona, you may still want to check the ground every so often and not just for your golf ball.

Originally a Tom Weiskopf design that opened in 2003, the course had Phil Smith do the 2024 renovation. Seven Canyons is tied for T-177 on Golfweek’s Best Top 200 residential courses. The course does have a membership but tee times can be secured by staying in the Enchantment Resort or renting a townhouse at Seven Canyons.
