We have breaking news to report from the WM Phoenix Open: Scottie Scheffler is human.

Now, we know what you’re thinking: That can’t be true. But we hate to inform you that it is, because the World No. 1, the most dominant golfer since Tiger Woods, the man who has literally won every tournament he’s played in this year (OK, so it was only one tournament so far), brace yourself, actually chunked a chip shot.

We know, the horror. We wouldn’t have believed it ourselves if not for video proof of what happened on the 18th hole (Scheffler’s ninth of his opening round) at TPC Scottsdale on Thursday. Incredibly, Scheffler was only one under at this point through his first eight holes and even more incredibly, he missed the green at the par 4 after driving it in the fairway. But what happened next was truly shocking:

Scheffler knew he made poor contact instantly. And that his golf ball was about to come back to his feet. A rare blunder from the four-time major champ.

But then things got even crazier. Are you sitting down? After getting up and down for bogey, Scheffler bogeyed (!) 10 before double bogeying (!!) 11. Wild stuff—especially for a guy who was almost a 2-to-1 favorite to win the event before it started.

Unless Scheffler suffered another cooking accident while making the turn, this one is hard to explain. Hang in there, Scottie. Things will be OK.
