Now that we are nearing American Thanksgiving, trade talk around the NHL is starting to increase. NHL insider Chris Johnston recently released his latest trade board for The Athletic, and Minnesota Wild forward Marco Rossi made the cut.

Rossi is no stranger to the rumor mill, as he also created chatter this past off-season. With the Buffalo Sabres needing a skilled top-six forward, they should seriously consider making a push for him if he is officially made available.

Rossi is off to an excellent start this season with the Wild. In 20 games, the 2020 ninth-overall pick has six goals, 17 points, and a plus-8 rating. There is no question that the Sabres could use production like that in their top six right now. In addition, he would be an obvious choice for their power play if acquired.

Furthermore, Rossi is only 23 years old, so he still has plenty of time left to take another step forward in his development. This naturally adds to his overall appeal.

Nevertheless, with the Sabres needing another high-impact forward, Rossi could be a great player to take a shot on. A trade for the skilled forward would likely need to include a first-round pick and one of their notable prospects, at a minimum.
