WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has been away from in-ring action since April this year. He was all set to clash against El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41. To build the feud, the icon competed in a six-man tag team match against Chad Gable and the Creed Brothers. During the bout, Rey sustained a torn groin, sidelining him. Interestingly, The Ultimate Underdog has recently announced his return.

Recently, Lucha Libre’s official XTwitter account posted a clip of Rey Mysterio shown during the Heroes Immortales, where the Hall of Famer announced the location and date of AAA’s final event of the year, Guerra De Titanes 2025, and also announced that he will make an appearance at the show. However, he hasn’t confirmed whether he will compete.

“#GuerraDeTitanes already has a date and venue: December 20, Guadalajara Arena. Tickets on sale, October 31 through Superboletos.”

WWE champion takes Mysterio’s name forward

While Master of 619 is away, his son, Dominik, has been carrying forward the legacy of their family through his work with the Stamford-based promotion.

“Dirty” Dom is currently a double champion, holding the Intercontinental and AAA Mega Titles, and has successfully defended both belts. He will be putting his IC Title on the line at the upcoming edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLI this weekend against Penta and Rusev in a triple threat match.

Moreover, some reports suggest Rey is close to getting clearance for his in-ring comeback, and he may return soon. All eyes are on the icon and on the plans the Stamford-based promotion creative team has in store for him once he returns, and whether he renews the rivalry against his son, which ultimately turned the King of the Luchadors over as a heel.
