The Boston Red Sox have been middling at the big-league level, but they’ve seen a lot of promising things from their farm system.
On Wednesday, The Boston Herald’s Mac Cerullo reported that Red Sox prospect Nick Yorke is being promoted to Triple-A Worcester.
Yorke, 22, was selected by Boston with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 MLB draft. In 45 games with Double-A Portland this season (his second), he hit .251 with a .691 OPS and four home runs.
Primarily a second baseman, Yorke has appeared in 12 games at left field this year as well. He’s currently ranked as Boston’s No. 11 prospect by SoxProspects.
