Reliever Chris Martin was placed on the 15-day injured list rectroactive to June 2 due to anxiety, the team announced. Zack Kelly has been recalled from Triple-A Worcester to fill his spot.
Martin. 38, has struggled this season, posting a 4.22 ERA and a 1.078 WHIP in his 21 outings this year. That’s a far cry from his dominant season last year where his ERA in 55 appearances was a remarkable 1.05.
In his last game against the Detroit Tigers, Martin allowed three runs on four hits in his sole inning.
