Popular WWE star R-Truth shared a major career announcement today on social media amid his absence from television. The veteran hasn’t competed in a televised match on SmackDown since his victory over Aleister Black on July 11.
The former champion took to social media today to announce that he would be performing on November 16 at S.O.B.’s (Sounds of Brazil) in New York. R-Truth released The White Album earlier this year, and it reached the top ten on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. Truth promoted the upcoming show on Instagram, noting that tickets for the event would go on sale tomorrow.
“First time EVER!!! Tickets go on sale tomorrow!!! #TheWhiteAlbum,” he wrote.
It appeared that R-Truth’s time in the promotion had come to an end earlier this year, but WWE decided to bring him back at Money in the Bank 2025. He returned to help Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso defeat Logan Paul and John Cena in a tag team match at the PLE earlier this year.
Former WWE writer criticizes R-Truth
Wrestling legend Vince Russo criticized R-Truth for his promo on the June 9, 2025, edition of WWE RAW.
Truth cut a promo as Ron Killings during the show and cut off his hair. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW show, Russo suggested that the promo ruined the former champion’s new character.
“Let’s look at Truth tonight. The whole speech on top of the table. Bro, if I’m a casual fan, I don’t know what he’s talking about. So, Truth, why don’t you just say, ‘They weren’t going to renew my contract because I’m 53 years old.’ Say now, oh I understand ageism, 53, by the fact that he’s given 53, people are saying, ‘Holy cr*p, he’s 53.’ Now, all of a sudden, they’re behind Truth because he’s 53. But the story he told, if I’m a casual fan who is not online, I don’t know what he’s talking about,” said Russo.
The 53-year-old has been with WWE since 2008 and is a former United States Champion. It will be fascinating to see if the company has anything planned for Truth in the weeks ahead.
