PSG optimistic that Vitinha can face Barcelona, Khivcha Kvaratskhelia a major doubt

Vitinha and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia both came off during Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 win over AJ Auxerre on Saturday.

The pair were both injured in the first half. Vitinha came off midway through the first half, with the exact nature of his injury unknown, whilst Kvaratskhelia came off with what looked like a hamstring injury at the break.

It is another blow for PSG, who are also without Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, Joao Neves, Fabián Ruiz, and Marquinhos due to injuries. The current injury crisis at the club is attributed to their long campaign last time out, which left just one week for pre-season.

PSG will be hoping to have players back for Wednesday night’s match against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. Le Parisien understands that there is optimism that Vitinha could be fit to face the La Liga side. However, there is more concern surrounding Kvaratskhelia, who looks more likely to miss the UCL clash later this week.
