The President of the United States is taking heat on social media for his golf trip decision amid the U.S. Government shutdown.
The U.S. Government remains shut down, as more than 750,000 employees are furloughed. However, President Trump has continued his normal routine – which includes golf trips to his courses in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Florida.
"Ballroom, golf and trips," the AP wrote.
"Trump is on a six-day swing through Asia, after a recent, whirlwind Middle East visit. He hosted a White House fundraiser for major donors to his $300 million ballroom that has seen construction crews tear down the East Wing, and held another fundraiser at his Florida estate."
Trump's decision to continue playing golf, and traveling around the world, is different than what happened in 2018, when the U.S. Government was shut down. President Trump cut out golf and canceled a planned trip to Florida for Christmas.
The White House, though, is continuing to maintain that President Trump is working hard.
“President Trump is continuing to work night and day on behalf of American people," said White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson. “The entire administration, including the president, will continue highlighting the workers and families who are suffering because of the Democrats’ decision to shut down the government.”
President Trump has faced heat on social media for continuing to golf while the U.S. Government is shut down.
I want my tax dollars to go to SNAP benefits, not Donald Trump's 7th golf trip of the month.
