Playing a traditional less-than-lucky number, Keegan Bradley hit golf’s magic number.
A hole in one.
Jupiter resident Bradley nailed the ace in Sunday morning’s final round of The Players Championship, sinking his tee shot at No. 13.
It was the 40th ace on record in the tournament at The Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.
Aimed at the Sunday middle-left pin location of 153 yards, Bradley’s ball hit in the center, bounced a couple of times while rolling left and dropped into the cup.
How rare are holes-in-one at No. 13?
Bradley’s ace is the 13th on record at the par-3 hole and the first since 2019, when Sungjae Im converted the hole-in-one.
Other golfers to make a 1 on the hole are Chip Beck (1992), Phil Mickelson (1995), Jay Don Blake (1996), Craig Stadler (2002), Jose Maria Olazabal (2004), Justin Leonard (2006), Jesper Parnevik (2006), Henrik Stenson (2006), Fred Couples (2006), Robert Garrigus (2008) and Chris Stroud (2013).
The hole-in-one lifted the 38-year-old Bradley, winner of the PGA Championship in 2011, to 6 under for the tournament and 4 under for the round at the time.
It’s Bradley’s second ace on the PGA Tour this year. He also converted at No. 3 at the Genesis Invitational.
