Only 36 holes separate the field at the Wanamaker Trophy.
The 2024 PGA Championship is in full swing, as the field of 156 golfers has been cut down to XX after Friday’s Round 2. The second of the four majors on the PGA Tour has been entertaining as ever — both on the course and off it.

The story of Friday morning was the arrest of Scottie Scheffler
. The world No. 1 golfer was detained in Louisville after miscommunication about parking security. Despite being transported in handcuffs, Scheffler was released and made it back to Valhalla for his tee time. He followed that up by shooting a 66, entering Saturday’s play 9 under and within striking distance of first place.
Round 3 was delayed at Valhalla with Round 2 needing to finish on Saturday. A fog early on Saturday caused an even further delay to the start of the competition, but the field is out now to compete on moving day.
Sitting at the top of the leaderboard to start Round 3 is Xander Schauffele. After setting a course record and tying the PGA major record for lowest score in a round on Thursday, he followed that up by shooting 3 under in Round 3. He enters Saturday’s play at 12 under.
Collin Morikawa, the 2020 PGA Championship winner is 11 under after two rounds of play at Valhalla and sits in second place. Sahith Theegala is in third place at 10 under after a sensational 4 under day in Round 2.
