Back in August, I wrote about Eric Woo and his company Par x Design: how a UC Davis economics major got so fed up with boring golf art that he started a revolution. How he transformed golf’s visual identity from stuffy country club aesthetic to something modern, intentional, and actually worth hanging on your wall.

Since then, I’ve become more than just someone who wrote about Par x Design. I’ve become a customer. And honestly, a believer.

I’ve picked up a few pieces for my own space, and they’ve completely changed how I think about golf-inspired decor. These aren’t prints you hang because you play golf and feel obligated to have something golf-related on your walls. These are pieces you hang because they’re genuinely beautiful, whether you’ve ever held a club or not.

That’s the difference Eric figured out when he launched Par x Design in 2019. Golf had gotten cool. The art hadn’t caught up. So he built something better.

When Art Meets Purpose

What really struck me about Eric and Par x Design goes beyond the aesthetic. It’s the intention behind everything they do.

Recently, Eric reached out about supporting Breakthrough Golf Alliance, a nonprofit I’m deeply involved with that expands youth and community access to the game. Without hesitation, he offered to donate $10 from every Follow Throughprint sold as part of their Follow Through initiative. Not as a marketing gimmick. Not because I asked. But because it aligned with what Par x Design already stands for: making golf more accessible, more inclusive, more human.

That generosity reflects the same philosophy that drives their partnership with First Tee, where they donate five percent of proceeds to introduce kids from all backgrounds to the game. Eric didn’t grow up in a country club environment. He understands that golf’s barriers aren’t just about skill. They’re about access, opportunity, and feeling like you belong.

When you buy from Par x Design, you’re not just getting art. You’re supporting a movement to open golf’s doors wider.

What Makes These Pieces Different

I’ve spent nearly three decades in this industry. I’ve seen every variation of golf decor you can imagine: the plaid patterns, the crossed clubs, those weirdly perfect fairway paintings that all look the same. Par x Design doesn’t do any of that.

Take their Elements Collection. Instead of depicting generic golf holes, these pieces capture actual moments every golfer knows: morning mist rolling across coastal fairways, desert sunrise painting the rough gold, mountain vistas that make you forget your terrible first drive. They’re unmistakably golf-inspired yet sophisticated enough that they work in any modern space.

The pieces I picked up have this quality that’s hard to describe. They’re bold without being loud. Contemporary without feeling trendy. They capture what Eric calls that “if you know, you know” energy: the mix of frustration and joy, the quiet morning rounds, the loud ones with friends, the endless pursuit of getting better.

“It’s one of those games that drives you crazy but you love every minute of it,” Eric told me when I first interviewed him. “That mix of frustration and joy, and that ‘if you know, you know’ energy, is exactly what we try to capture at PxD.”

He nailed it.

Building a Creative Collective

What separates Par x Design from other companies trying to capitalize on golf’s cultural moment is authenticity. Eric isn’t just selling to golfers. He is one. Golf was always something he could do with his dad. Over the years, it became part of his identity, giving him incredible memories and introducing him to people he never would have met otherwise.

That genuine connection shows in every decision he makes. Rather than trying to design everything himself, Eric built Par x Design as a creative collective, working with and supporting emerging artists who each bring their own story and perspective.

“Elevating their voices not only creates fresh takes on golf, but also builds a platform where creativity and individuality can shine,” he explained.

This approach means every piece feels fresh, personal, and intentional. You’re not getting mass-produced golf decor. You’re getting art.

Holiday Deals Worth Noting

Here’s the practical part: Par x Design is running some solid deals for the holiday shopping season right now. If you’ve been thinking about picking up a piece (or several), this is the time to do it.

These make genuinely great gifts for the golfer in your life, or for yourself. They work for the player who has everything, the design-conscious friend who happens to love golf, or the person who just appreciates beautiful art that happens to be golf-inspired.

The quality is outstanding. The colors are vibrant. The details are sharp. And unlike a lot of golf gifts that end up collecting dust, these are pieces people actually want to display.

The Real Point

After decades in this industry, I’ve learned that the best gifts aren’t about the price tag or the brand name. They’re about finding pieces that actually fit into someone’s life. Pieces they’ll appreciate every time they walk past them.

Par x Design delivers that. These aren’t trendy pieces that’ll look dated next season. They’re investments in art that earns its place on your wall.

But beyond that, they represent something bigger. When Eric started Par x Design, he wanted to flip golf’s narrative of exclusivity. He wanted to show that golf is fun, relatable, and teaches life lessons, no matter where you come from.

Every piece sold of the Follow Through print supports that mission: through partnerships with organizations like First Tee and Breakthrough Golf Alliance, through elevating emerging artists, and through creating work that makes golf feel accessible rather than exclusive.

That’s the kind of gift worth giving. Art that’s beautiful, meaningful, and actually makes a difference.
