It’s a relatively slow news period for the Green Bay Packers right now, as it appears that the whole league has opted out of free agency until the draft. So, we might as well talk about the draft.
Here’s a quick mock I did with the NFL Mock Draft Database simulator:

#52: Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State
From what I’ve been told by members of the scouting community, the Packers are doing a good amount of work on pass-rushers. Usually, edge rushers are sort of like quarterbacks, in that they’re much more in demand in rounds 1 and 2 of the draft than in the later rounds.
I’ve started to really chip away at the edge rusher class over the last week or so, and the player I think is the most underrated is Penn State’s Dani Dennis-Sutton, a quality run defender who can also bend the corner as a pass-rusher at 6’6” and 256 pounds. Adding a rusher like Dennis-Sutton this year could mean that the Packers don’t need to pay Lukas Van Ness an extension before the season, too, as they’ll have a legitimate starting option for 2027.
#84: Domonique Orange, iDL, Iowa State
Nose tackle is the biggest need on the Packers’ depth chart right now, unless the team plans on playing Javon Hargrave out of position in 2026. Dominique Orange can come in immediately and play the 40 percent or less snaps that he’ll need to be on the field for as a 3-4 nose tackle. He has the athleticism to develop into a nose on nickel sets, too. Iowa State didn’t help him there, as they ran a true three-high safety look where Orange was the only line of scrimmage player from tackle to tackle. There’s a chance no one in the sport has been doubled-teamed more in college football than Orange was for the Cyclones.

#120: Daylen Everette, CB, Georgia
I don’t think there’s as big a gap between a player like Daylen Everette or a Chris Johnson as most boards show. I think cornerback actually is the deepest position in the draft from round 2 to round 4, so I love the idea of picking a cornerback at the top of Day 3, if there’s better value at other positions on Day 2. It’s a draft full of number two cornerbacks.
#160: Demonte Capehart, iDL, Clemson
Unlike Domonique Orange, Demonte Capehart can play every spot on the interior defensive line and could give the team much-needed depth. I’m a big fan of Capehart’s film and wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up going much higher than this on draft day. With Orange and Capehart in the mix, we could have a room of Devonte Wyatt, Javon Hargrave, Orange, Karl Brooks, Warren Brinson and Capehart in 2026. That’s a much better group than what Green Bay worked with in 2025.

#201: J.C. Davis, OT, Illinois
I like his film and thought he would have been off the board in the 4th round at the latest. Real tackle ability and can probably kick inside, too. Bringing him in could mean replacing Travis Glover’s spot on the 53-man roster and displacing Darian Kinnard as the team’s swing tackle in 2027. Helps save some money on the edges.
#236: Jeremiah Wright, iOL, Auburn
I haven’t studied Jeremiah Wright, but I watched him in passing when I was scouting Auburn’s center. What I do know about Wright is that he’s played every position on the offensive line at the college level and that he is a big boy at 331 pounds. Positional flexibility? Big body? That’s a modern Packers lineman.

#255: Haynes King, QB, Georgia Tech
Undrafted quarterbacks sign for much bigger guarantees than seventh-round picks, so I have Green Bay adding Haynes King to their backup quarterback battle between Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord. Haynes King is a runner, which is a mold the Packers hit pretty often with their backup or practice squad quarterbacks. In college, he carried the ball 471 times for 2,327 yards and 37 touchdowns.
