The final of the Liga Betplay 2025-I still remains to be played, but the main teams in Colombian football, among them Atlético Nacional and América de Cali, are already looking ahead to the second half of the year.

These clubs are starting to move in terms of reinforcements, looking at the market and analyzing possibilities for new signings.

One option that has come up is a player who put himself forward to be considered, and revealed that he has already had conversations with Tulio Gómez, the main shareholder of América de Cali.

The 38-year-old forward was one of the signings for Club Pachuca for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, although he only came on for the final minutes in the Mexican team’s defeat to RB Salzburg. He did not play against Real Madrid, where the team coached by Jaime Lozano lost again and was eliminated from the competition.

After this outcome, the player, who also made a name for himself at Atlético Nacional before moving to Mexican football, is considering the possibility of returning to Colombia.

“You always dream of returning to where you played, that’s the main thing, América, which was the team where I debuted and experienced many beautiful moments,” Hurtado said in an interview with Antena 2 Cali.

He also mentioned Atlético Nacional: “the club that catapulted me to international football.”

However, he revealed that there was already a meeting with Tulio Gómez. “We met, but there wasn’t much progress because they were focused on the competition (Liga BetPlay and Copa Sudamericana) and it was complicated because they didn’t know what the outlook for the next competition would be,” he said.

Now, the door is open. Will he return?
