The Ottawa Senators have recalled defenseman Max Guenette from the Belleville Senators, it was announced Tuesday.
Guenette, a 2019 seventh round pick of the Sens, has spent the entire season in the AHL up until this point, collecting three goals and six assists for nine points in 27 games.
Having turned pro in 2021-22, Guenette has appeared in a total of eight career games with Ottawa, going pointless in the process. Over 205 career regular season games with Belleville, Guenette has produced 102 points.
Before making the jump to the pro game, Guenette spent four seasons playing for the QMJHL’s Val-d’Or Foreurs.
As Guenette gets recalled for the first time this season, he will have the opportunity to see his first NHL game since last March. Although his production is not on pace for what it was last year, Guenette is still a reliable contributor at both ends and could provide value if called upon.
