The former NXT Cruiserweight Champion is still a part of the Stamford-based company and is being prominently featured on their AAA shows. Him being on the Alumni section might just be a technical error from the promotion’s side and could be because Escobar appears primarily on AAA.

It will be interesting to see if Santos Escobar will make an appearance on WWE programming again apart from Lucha Libre AAA.

Santos Escobar recently returned to WWE owned AAA

Santos Escobar’s contract with WWE expired on October 7th 2025. It was speculated that he was set to leave the company but it was reported that he re-signed with the company a day later. However, he was nowhere to be seen on the company’s programming.

He made his return to AAA few months ago. He appeared on the January 17th edition of Lucha Libre AAA and confronted El Hijo Del Wagner Jr. He was also a part of the annual Rey de Reyes event hosted by the promotion. He was part of the Fatal 4-Way finals match but didn’t win. He has changed his look ever since he joined AAA and now has a more noticeable tan along with highlights on his hair.

Fans are excited to see more of him in the squared circle.
