EA Sports NHL has announced the first patch for NHL 25.

The patch will go live at 7am PST on Oct. 4, just before the worldwide release of the game at 9am PST/12pm EST.

There will up to  one hour of  downtime ahead of the update.

The lone gameplay change coming with this patch is an improvement to the goaltenders ability to react to close-range passes directed at the net. During Early Access players could score on goalies too often by passing the puck into the net from in close.

Additionally, changes will be made to EASHL and World of Chel.

An issue will be fixed that was allowing EASHL teams with a player goalie to matchup with a CPU goalie, matchmaking will now continue until two human goalies are found.

In World of Chel an issue was fixed that resulted in players games crashing when opening a message banner, and an issue where a user would crash when quitting Ones Eliminator and reentering WoC.
