Gacy wrestled his first match post-WWE exit at Wrestling REVOLVER’s The Silence of the Lambs event on July 24. He defeated Rich Swann and paid a tribute to the late Bray Wyatt during the match.

Now, days after his in-ring return, he has captured his first championship after being released by the sports entertainment giant. Gacy, who now competes under the Joseph Sawyer name, was in action for Xcite Wrestling on August 8.

He defeated Anthony Gangone, hitting him with his version of Sister Abigail to capture the Xcite Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. This marks his first championship win after he and Dexter Lumis lost the WWE tag team championship to the MFTs on SmackDown.

Gacy has been a free agent for only a brief time but is already making his mark. Last week, he showed up during the GCW Rude event and planted GCW World Champion Atticus Cogar with a Sister Abigail.

Wyatt Sicks were planned to kidnap a top celebrity

Wyatt Sicks’ release from WWE came as a surprise to many fans. The faction had been featured prominently on SmackDown during the WrestleMania 42 buildup.

In a recent appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Gacy revealed that he was shocked that the entire stable was released. He then mentioned that he had a little inkling that something like this might happen.

He said their promo ahead of the blow-off match against MFTs on SmackDown was cut from TV. Gacy then mentioned another big plan that didn’t materialize.

The former tag team champion said that the Wyatt Sicks were planned to make an appearance at the Kill Tony WrestleMania event in Las Vegas, hosted by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe.

Gacy mentioned that they were supposed to kidnap Hinchcliffe but then saw their spot given to The Undertaker, who ended up chokeslamming the comedian through a table.
