Nelly Korda is looking to win her second tournament in 2026 this week at the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix, Arizona.

Incredibly, Korda went without a victory in 2025, but she has clearly come out with real intent on the LPGA Tour this year.

The 27-year-old from Bradenton, Florida, looks well positioned to win her second event of the season in Arizona this week.

Korda has posted superb rounds of 63 and 65 to lead the Ford Championship by two strokes from Hyo Joo Kim.

There is obviously still a long way to go, but Korda will be confident in her chances of winning for the 17th time on the LPGA Tour.

The fact that Nelly Korda didn’t win on the LPGA Tour in 2025 seems genuinely unbelievable.

She is so, so good in every department of the game and when she’s on form, it seems like it’s almost impossible for other players to compete with her.

Nelly Korda admits to being ‘mesmerized’ by one LPGA Tour player

Korda is undoubtedly someone who many LPGA Tour players look up to and admire.

However, Korda herself has admitted to being ‘mesmerized’ by one of her fellow pros.

The 27-year-old has played alongside Hyo Joo Kim for four straight rounds now, and she’ll be alongside the South Korean in Arizona once again on Saturday.

After her second round, Korda was asked to share her feelings on Hyo Joo Kim.

Just getting sick of each other now, Korda joked.

Yeah, she’s playing such solid golf. At the end of the day that’s something that motivates me to kind of want to stay with her at that level.

We’re just kind of going back and forth, so it’s nice. At the end of the day we’re competitors, but we are very friendly. I’ve always enjoyed playing with her. I’m always mesmerized by her putting.

It’s always fun. You’re never — you can never perfect this craft, you can always learn. Watching someone putt the way that she does, I mean it’s always so mesmerizing for me. You learn so much from every player that you kind of play with.

But I’m going to be focused on myself and we’re just at the halfway point. See how it goes.

Adam Scott made claim about Nelly Korda’s swing

It’s fair to say that Adam Scott possesses one of the most enviable swings in the game.

So when he named Korda as one of the best swingers of the golf club in the world, it must have been a huge boost to her confidence.

Scott mentioned Korda when asked which golf swing in the game today he admires the most.

There are some nice-looking swings out there, Scott admitted.

This is a dangerous one, but Ras Højgaard, I like his action. It’s tough when he’s a twin and I’m picking one and not the other (laughing). That’s pretty.

I mean, look, there are a lot of great swings out there. Nelly Korda, you know, I like her swing as well.

Yeah, the modern swing’s a little different than like the swings I grew up idolizing. I think the game’s played slightly different.

But I like swings with flow and a certain rhythm about them, and a lot have it. I like Rory’s swing a lot as well.

Scott certainly isn’t wrong about Korda’s swing. She has one of the most powerful, yet graceful, moves in the professional game.

It’s certainly no coincidence that she has achieved so much success in her career already.
