Nashville Predators Recall Adam Wilsby from AHL Milwaukee

The Nashville Predators announced Wednesday that the team has recalled defensive prospect Adam Wilsby from the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals.

After Dante Fabbro was claimed off waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets over the weekend, Nashville was down to six defensemen on the NHL roster: Roman Josi, Alexandre Carrier, Jeremy Lauzon, Brady Skjei, Marc Del Gaizo and Luke Schenn. Wilsby has yet to make his NHL debut, but he could do so as soon as Thursday, when the Predators visit the Edmonton Oilers.

The Predators selected Wilsby in the fourth round (No. 101 overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. He can become the third member of Nashville’s 2020 draft class to make his NHL debut with the team, joining Yaroslav Askarov and Luke Evangelista.

Wilsby is coming off his second full AHL season in 2023-24, in which he posted a career-high 21 points (8 goals, 13 assists) in 61 games. He helped the Admirals reach the Western Conference Final in two consecutive seasons, tallying three assists across 15 postseason games.

Wilsby, a left-shot defenseman, has amassed 42 points (10 goals, 32 assists) in 144 games across parts of three seasons with Milwaukee. The 24-year-old Swede has impressed Nashville’s management and coaching staffs during his time in the AHL and will now earn his first opportunity at the NHL level.

While it’s unknown whether he will be in the lineup or listed as a healthy scratch, Wilsby will join the Predators ahead of Thursday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers, the second of a five-game road trip.
