While Kyle Larson dominated the first two stages, it was Justin Allgaier getting the win for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Race. Allgaier now has four career wins at Darlington in the series and adds another win to his career total overall.

A late pit stop for Larson went awry with 20 laps to go in the race. It put him back from the lead to P5. On the final restart, it was Justin Allgaier against Brandon Jones on the front row, two drivers who know how to win at Darlington. Allgaier got away and distanced himself from the rest of the field in the closing laps. Clean air did wonders for that No. 7 car.

Parker Retzlaff finished P8 for Viking Motorsports. It was perhaps his most impressive performance yet in his young career, right up there with his P2 at Rockingham last season. It’s easy to forget that he is only 22 years old when he has more than 100 career races in the NOAPS. Still, Retzlaff is a developing driver that has clearly improved and is taking on a bigger role at Viking than he had at Alpha Prime or Jordan Anderson Racing.

Four JRM cars in the top-nine tonight. Christopher Bell and Jones gave JGR a good one-two punch. Just when you thought the Cup drivers were going to run away with the race, Allgaier reminded everyone that he is one of the best to ever race in the O’Reilly Series.
