Newcastle United and Liverpool are reportedly showing strong interest in Hugo Ekitiké, who is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer. PSG, his former club, could benefit from any deal thanks to a 20 percent sell-on clause.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool are preparing to open talks over a potential deal for Ekitiké, though any move may depend on Darwin Núñez being sold first.

Sources suggest Liverpool have already told Eintracht Frankfurt they’re ready to begin negotiations. That has given the Bundesliga side hope they could receive their full £86 million valuation.

With several new signings already in place, Liverpool would need to clear space in the squad—likely by moving on from Núñez—before making a serious push for Ekitiké.

On Friday, CaughtOffside reported, citing sources, that Napoli are preparing an improved offer for Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez. The Serie A club still consider the Uruguayan forward their top attacking target and are expected to submit a new bid of around €55 million.

Nunez is available for transfer this summer, but Liverpool are reluctant to sell him for less than his value and could hold out for €65-70 million for the 26-year-old.

CaughtOffside added that, while it appears unlikely Napoli will meet that price, negotiations are expected to continue as both sides look for a compromise.

Liverpool and Chelsea both made inquiries back in June, and other Premier League sides are keeping an eye on his situation. Ékitiké has also drawn recent interest from Saudi clubs Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah, but his focus remains on securing a move within Europe.
